Feature Client: ANZAN's Trainee Match

The Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) runs a national program to match neurology trainees with hospital placements across both Australia and New Zealand. When I was first approached, the process was entirely manual — neurologists were stepping away from clinical duties to physically shuffle paper applications from pile to pile, following a complex algorithm that could take days to complete.

We began by digitising the intake: capturing applicant data while the match itself was still performed manually. Over three years, the system evolved into a fully automated platform. Today, with well over 100 applicants annually, the match can be run at the push of a button — completed in seconds.

The platform now supports every stage of the process:

Collecting applicant data and references
Scoring applications and interviews
Accepting ranked preferences from applicants and hospitals
Running the match algorithm
Notifying successful applicants and host institutions

ANZAN's administrators have full control over each phase, with a secure backend tailored to their workflow. The time and cost savings are significant — and the system has become a trusted backbone for one of the most competitive medical training pathways in the region.

Endocrine Society Website Refresh

The Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA) engaged me to refresh their website, which had become dated, text‑heavy, and challenging to navigate on mobile devices. It no longer reflected the professionalism or clarity expected of a leading medical society.

The new design delivers a clean, modern interface built around ESA's brand colours. It's fully responsive, intuitive across all screen sizes, and prioritises user experience for both members and visitors.
